President’s Message

Robles Martha bWEB Over twenty-three years ago, the founders of the Latina Leadership Network had a vision, to search for educational opportunities, mentor, reach out and discover possibilities. Despite the many challenges the LLN founding mothers and its members faced, they maintained a strong focus on the vision.   Like the founding women, your current leaders whether on campus leading a local chapter or on the board, we will maintain that spirit, that we know.  We, as educators, need to stay positive and continue to encourage our students through this time and remain supportive.

On behalf of the Executive Board, we would like to recognize and thank you for your participation in the 2009 Annual Conference, which was held in Los Angeles. We greatly appreciate that you so generously contributed your time to assemble and engage. We recognize that your attendance was the key to a successful event.

The 23rd Annual Conference is in full planning stage with the conference committee already in action.  The 2010 annual conference will be held in Visalia March 11 – 13, 2010.  The theme for the conference is “The Evolution  of the Latina Woman – La Evolucion de la Mujer Latina”

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have worked over the last year to keep the organization functioning on a business level: the region reps, the conference committee, the officers, and most importantly the members. Thank you to each of you for all that you contribute.  Whether you are a student, staff member, faculty or administrator you are in a position to affect the lives of others. Without you all working together we cannot achieve anything we set out to do. We are quite an organization! I also want to acknowledge our current Executive Board; they have energy, courage and excitement for the organization.

As we continue to evolve and grow, we want to ensure that we are serving you, our members. We hope that we are bringing you what you need as a professional, if not, please let us know! I can be contacted at roblesm@mjc.edu

¡Viva !
