The Latina Leadership Network is a mutual support and advocacy organization committed to providing effective opportunities to develop innovative approaches to increase the participation of Latinas in leadership roles and to promote and maintain “la cultural Latina” and non-sexist familial values. Latina Leadership Network of the California Community Colleges is State-wide organization that was developed to create and to improve the representation of Latinas in the higher education system. The Latina Leadership Network consists of members from all levels within the California Community College system. The members and executive board consist of administrative, management, classified, faculty and students.
For 24 years, our organization organized an annual state-wide conference that takes place every March. The location of the conference rotates from Northern California to Central California and down to Southern California, so that different regions have an opportunity to host the conference in their home town. The conference is an extremely important component of the LLN organization, because it allows the executive board, LLN members and other Latinas interested in joining the organization the opportunity to network.
